Step 01
Writers submit
While a season is open, any writer can submit an original screenplay. There's no agent requirement and no invitation — just the script.

Format and quality screen
Every submission is checked for proper screenplay format and length, then assessed for craft. This stage exists to clear out what plainly isn't ready — nothing is selected here, only filtered.

Step 03
Human industry review
The scripts that come through the screen are read end to end by experienced industry readers. They make the real call — every teaser you vote on comes from a script that people read in full and stood behind.

Step 04
Selection
A shortlist of finalists is selected in each genre. Keeping the field tight per genre means a taut thriller is judged against other thrillers, not against a period drama.

Step 05
The teaser gets made
Each selected script goes into teaser production — cast, shot, cut. This is a real piece of film, not a slideshow of the logline, and it's made before a single vote is cast.

Voting opens
The finished teasers go live on Browse. You watch them, you spend your votes, and the leaderboard moves in the open where everyone can see it.

Into production
When the season closes, the most-backed stories in each genre go into full production — and stream here when they're finished. The writer gets made. You get to say you called it.

Three votes a season
Every free member gets three votes each season. Spend them on the stories you most want to see made — no cost, ever.

One vote per story
You can back a story once. It keeps the leaderboard honest and makes every vote a real signal to producers.

Votes are final
Once cast, a vote can't be changed or taken back — so choose the stories that truly move you.
Genre by genre
Every genre gets its own race.
Finalists are shortlisted within each genre, and the winners are decided within each genre too. A horror script never has to out-poll a family drama to get made — it only has to be the horror story the audience most wants to see. That's how a season ends up with a real slate instead of seven versions of the same crowd-pleaser.

FAQs
Does it cost anything to vote?
No. A viewer account is free and always will be. You get your season's votes the moment you verify your email — there is no paid tier that buys extra votes, because that would make the leaderboard meaningless.
Why do I vote on a teaser instead of reading the script?
Two reasons. A teaser shows you what the finished thing would actually feel like — tone, cast, craft — in a couple of minutes, which a screenplay can't do for most people. And the writers' work stays protected: their full scripts are never published for browsing.
Who decides which scripts I get to vote on?
A first-pass screen removes submissions that aren't ready — wrong format, wrong length, or simply not strong enough on craft. Everything past that point is read in full by experienced industry readers, and the finalists are their call. The audience decides which finalists get made; our readers decide which scripts become finalists.
Can I change or take back a vote?
No. Votes are final once cast, and you can only back a given story once. It keeps the standings honest and stops last-minute vote-shuffling from deciding a season. Take your time before you spend one.
What stops someone from stuffing the ballot?
Voting requires a verified account, every account gets the same fixed number of votes per season, and a story can only be backed once per account. Writers can't vote for their own submissions. We monitor for coordinated activity and invalidate votes that turn out to be fraudulent.
What happens to the stories that don't win?
Reaching the voting floor at all means a script was read and backed by industry professionals and shot as a teaser — that stays true whatever the vote says. Writers keep every right to their work and are free to submit to a later season or take it elsewhere.
When can I actually watch the finished productions?
Production starts once a season closes and its results are in. Finished films stream right here on Indy Streaming — you'll be notified when a story you voted for is released, and you can follow its progress from your account in the meantime.
I'm a writer — can I vote too?
Yes. It's one account — you can watch and vote like anyone else, and add submitting to it whenever you want. The only restriction is that you can't vote for your own story. If you'd like to submit, start on the For Writers page.
